Dealing with cat hair is the worst part of owning cats and something that we all have to go through. This is especially true if you own a cat that has a coat with a lot of shedding or a coat that's very light in color and lots of dark clothing or furniture.
Brushing the fur on your cat at a weekly basis will not only improve your cats overall coat health, but it will dramatically cut down on the amount of hair that your cat sheds around the house and on your clothes.
In A Rush? Here Is Our Top Pick
- For Medium/Large cats with long hair: designed especially for cats that weigh more than 10 pounds
- Removes loose hair: reaches through the topcoat to remove loose undercoat hair without cutting skin...
The Furminator is basically the gold standard of pet hair removal tools. This is the device that you seen in photos that pulls out enough loose hair that you could build another cat with it. I've owned 5 of these devices and I would recommend this to anyone that needs to get loose hair out of their cats fur.
It has a simple comb and rake mechanism that will grab loose hair and a simple button that will allow you to dump the hair easily. It also has something that prevents the hair from clinging via static which you find in a lot of tools. That makes the overall process much less messier than with cheaper brushed for shedding

Cats are picky, and I don't think these should get a bad review because someones cat didn't like them. My cats LOVE these. 1 cats really loves them, the other likes them OK. My 1 cats doesn't like the brush much but likes these more because its like being petted. My other cat is a whore for these...I put one gloved hand by his face, which he rubs all over the glove while I brush his body with the other.

He lets me do it for up to 10 mins before he gets tired of it, as most any cat will do eventually, if your arm holds out that long. When the fur you brushed off gets piled up on the glove, pull up around the edges and peel it off.

Hertzko Self Cleaning Slicker Brush
- #1 Cat & Dog Brush - Voted best overall for 2022 by Spruce Pets; trusted by millions of pet owners
- Effective - Reduces shedding, detangles, removes dirt & debris, keeps coat looking shiny and healthy
have always had a love-hate relationship with slicker brushes... love because they're effective and comfortable, and HATE because they are the absolute biggest pain in the butt to clean, especially without damaging the thin bristles, or bending them in such a way that they poke the animal uncomfortably.
This brush is 10x more comfortable for my cat, while still pulling a decent amount of shed hair. Cleaning it is AMAZING - just press the button, pull the pad of hair off, and it doesn't fill up until after nearly a full session of brushing. It is not taking off as much hair as the Furminator, but the fact that he doesn't get instantly annoyed and thus I can brush for longer and create a more positive experience for him is important.

- FURejector button releases hair with ease
I included a smaller furminator because the larger furminator shedding brush and tool can be a bit much for some smaller breeds of cats. I think this size is exactly everything you would expect in the #1 cat shedding brush tool, but just in a smaller package.

My first impression was that it looks cheaply made. I thought it was going to break after a few uses lol (I was wrong). As you can see i have several brushes. I have two long haired and one short haired cat. The slicker brush works great on my long haired girls for their top coat but its not very affective in getting the undercoat and its a bit rough on them.
I got the de-matting brush and it did not work for my cats. After trying this deshedding tool i immediately fell in love with it. It helped remove so much hair without having to apply much pressure so it was easy on their skin. I was even able to remove the small matts my cat had. I feel like i should've bought this tool first before getting anything else. I would definitely recommend this!

Love the 4 inch wide blade . You can cover a wide area quickly. The tool goes through the fur extremely smoothly, apparently no pulling & no irritating of the skin. He liked it so much he plopped over on his side & stretched out. He let me brush his tail & the backside of his legs, which he usually hates. He even let me do his tummy (always been a no-no in the past). He was so comfortable I had to pick him up & roll him over to do the other side!
The picture shows what came off him in less than 5 minutes. I brushed him again the next day & got that much again. The girls love the brush also. This brush works so quickly I'm sure I will use it more often than I normally would. NO stress for any of us! Thanks DakPets for the great tool at such a reasonable price. Love the fact replacement blades are available.
